Thought loop
Our brains love to complicate things in order to “protect” us from change which it sees as a potential threat to our survival.
Even something “positive” is seen as a threat if it’s different from how we’ve been doing things.
This is why it’s important to pay attention to our thoughts!
Especially the thoughts that seem “true” and like you’re just “reporting the weather outside.”
Those little suckers can be the most damaging to our joy and determine whether we’re thriving in life or just surviving.
If we believe things like: I’m not good enough, no one will help me, the world is a dumpster fire, I shouldn’t need help, it’s too late for me, I can’t figure it out, everyone will be pissed at me, I don’t want to rock the boat, everything will fall apart if try to write a book, I have to go to my parents for the holidays, the job market sucks ass, etc.
Guess what? If those are your thoughts then you will get those results because that’s how brains work.
That’s doesn’t mean you just flip your thoughts 180* and poof, everything is grand. That’s a binary thought that’ll keep you exactly where you are.
It means that our brains are designed to change.
And when you change your thoughts, you change your feelings, which change your actions, which change your results.
Couple that with creating more internal safety in your nervous system, and you’re off to the races in the direction to your favorite version of yourself and your life.
It doesn’t take years to tweak your thoughts and life.
It takes awareness, micro practices, and often someone to help keep you from veering off course and help you see what your precious brain is really doing so you don’t stay stuck in a dirty diaper of the same shit different day.
I believe in you and I’ve always got your back!
